Why your fabric may need a first wash
Authentic Three Cats fabric is traditionally finished with a starch sizing that gives the fabric its characteristic crisp feel and distinctive scent. This traditional finish is a hallmark of authenticity and part of the fabric’s heritage.
Our Fat Quarters and Half Metres have been pre-washed and are ready to use. Fabric lengths of 1 metre and above are supplied in their original authentic condition and should be rinsed or washed before cutting or sewing to remove the sizing (starch), soften the fabric and allow for any initial shrinkage.

✓ Releases excess dye from darker indigo colourways
✓ Improves drape and handling before sewing

Allow slight natural shrinkage
Machine wash 30-40°C
Use mild detergent
Wash similar colours
Line dry where possible
Warm iron on reverse
Do not bleach
